ABOUT ME
Merwyn Dsouza
WHY I MAKE ?
My most important role is being a father.
I chose to become a craftsman next, hoping that one day my son might be inspired to create with his own hands, mind, and heart.
What began as a passing curiosity quickly became a lifelong pursuit. I started woodworking with little guidance and learned through persistence, mistakes, and countless hours in the workshop. Along the way, I discovered that the satisfaction of making something by hand was too valuable to keep to myself.
As my skills grew, so did my desire to help others discover the same satisfaction I had found in making.
WHY I MENTOR?
Liam Skye Designs was born from a simple idea: to help others experience the same sense of achievement that comes from transforming raw material into something useful, beautiful, and lasting.

My goal is not simply to teach woodworking, but to help people develop the confidence to create, solve problems, and discover the joy of making.
I believe people learn best when they are free to explore, experiment, and play. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn, and every project teaches something new.
Coming from a humble background where hobbies often took second priority, I learned to make the most of every tool and resource available to me. That mindset continues to shape my work today, proving that meaningful craftsmanship comes more from skill, curiosity, and perseverance than from having the perfect workshop.
Today, I share that mindset through hands-on woodworking experiences focused on traditional joinery, practical craftsmanship, and the simple joy of making something with your own hands.
