A Small Desktop Shelf

In this module, you will learn to make a simple desktop organizer.

A wooden organizer can add luster to any work desk. Use it to organize your desktop or Kitchen or your miniature car collection, and small toys, or use it as a window of imagination.

You will get a 72" x 4" x 0.5" ( 180cm x 30cm x 1.2cm ) thick slab of wood. ( approx size ) .

Using simple tools,  you will learn to make a functional lattice structure, approximately height 12" x depth 4" x width 18" ( 30cm x 10cm x 45cm ). This will be made from pure joinery, and yes you get to take the final piece home.

The dimensions and design are fixed, hence we will focus purely on the execution of the build.

​

This module spans 3 HOURS. Thus the focus would be on the practical build of the box and we would not delve deep into the concept of design and the theory of timber. If you wish to learn the details of this craft, you can choose any of our longer modules.
 

FINISHING TECHNIQUES: Due to time constraints, finishing techniques will not be covered in this module. The process will be explained in brief.
