Box Making

In this module, you will learn to make a wooden box.

A Box is a basic design that is found in most of our furniture, right from a simple knick-knack holder, to an exotic curio container, to something as large as a bed or a cabinet.

So if you want to explore the endless possibilities this shape has to offer, this workshop is for you.

​

You will get a 24" x 4" x 0.5" thick slab of Teakwood. ( approx size ) .

Using some simple tools,  you will learn to make a functional cuboid box of 4" using pure wooden joinery. Yes, you get to take your finished product home.

This module spans one day. Thus the focus would be on the practical build of the box and we would not delve deep into the concept of design and the theory of timber. If you wish to learn the details of this craft, you can choose any of our other modules.
 

FINISHING TECHNIQUES: Due to time constraints, finishing techniques would not be covered in this module. The process will be explained in brief.
